New Product Announcement

RA Transfer Switches with Aluminum Enclosures

Cummins Power Generation is excited to announce the availability of the RA 100A and 200A switches, both service and non-service entrance rated, with NEMA Type 3R rated aluminum enclosures. Note that the RA400 models are already being offered with aluminum enclosures.

The new products will be released with new part numbers (A#) but will retain the same marketing name.

Aluminum enclosure offerings will enable Cummins to be more competitive in the market and provide a long-term solution for enclosure corrosion concerns from
customers and channel partners located/operating in humid coastal environments.

The aluminum enclosed transfer switches will also be significantly lighter compared to the current steel enclosed units. This will make handling of the product much easier during installation.

We also took this opportunity to make the product safer by adding barriers to prevent accidental contact with live wires inside the cabinet and also updating safety various labels.  The new switches are compliant to the latest National Electronic Code requirements.

The new products will be released with new part numbers (A#) but will retain the same marketing name. The steel enclosed switches will be obsoleted after a brief transition period.

Please note that product pricing has been updated. Contact your sales manager for more information.

The product specification sheet has been updated to reflect the new product. The spec sheet number for the new product is NAS-5810-EN. Please note the slight changes in enclosure dimensions. Updated outline drawings, wiring diagrams, etc. are also available in Cummins Power Suite Library.

The aftermarket manuals have also been updated. The manuals for the steel enclosed product will remain available in Cummins QuickServe Online by selecting  spec level A. The manuals for the new aluminum enclosed units can be found by selecting spec level B.

The steel enclosed switches will be fully obsoleted after a brief transition period. Actual dates are subject to change due to product demand and material availability at the Fridley plant and at the RDCs
